900 MHz (GSM) exposure and modeling of SAR variations in the eye due to wearing spectacles |
Details |
A human phantom with metal spectacles was exposed to RF using a monopole antenna to determine if the spectacles caused scattering and possibly caused locally high fields near the eyes. The authors report that metal-framed spectacles can, in certain cases, cause an increase in field levels by up to approximately 20 dB which should be accounted for in safety standards |
