40 MHz (AM at 2, 7, or 50 Hz) exposure to rats and analysis of behavioral effects with different modulations |
Details |
|
Rats were exposed to 40 MHz (AM at 2, 7, or 50 Hz) at a field strength of 100-120 V/m and analyzed for self stimulation using implanted electrodes in the brain (pleasure sensory areas) triggered by a learned behavioral task. The authors report different effects with different AM, with 2 Hz AM first increasing then decreasing the self stimulation behavior with time, 7 Hz AM first having no effect then gradually decreasing self stimulation behavior with time, and 50 Hz AM consistently decreasing self stimulation behavior with time. Other studies reported changes in feeding and defense behavior in rats exposed using 50 Hz modulations. |
