2450 MHz (CW) exposure at thermal levels and analysis of cholinesterase enzyme activity as well as ion permeability in erythrocytes |
Details |
|
Rabbit erythrocytes were exposed to RF and analyzed for effects on membrane permeability and ion exchange. The authors report increased passive efflux of radioactively labeled sodium and rubidium ions with microwave exposure at thermal levels. In earlier studies, cholinesterase enzyme (either purified or in rabbit blood) was exposed to microwaves and analyzed for activity. As above, microwaves decreased enzyme activity only at thermal levels. |
