Model Occupational exposure of humans to RF and eye damage / cataracts (reanalysis of Appleton data)
Details

Reanalysis of Appleton-McCrossan and Appleton et al studies on military workers and occupational exposure to RF and eye damage / cataracts. Frey concludes, in contrast to the initial authors, that their data did suggest occupational exposures were associated with cataracts. Frey's criticisms were a) the exposed group likely included people with little or no exposure, b) the control group consisted of people working with equipment known to cause eye damage, and c) the initial study did not do a statistical analysis on their data. However, criticism of Frey's reanalysis from Wike and Martin suggest the association Frey saw was incorrect because he had not corrected for age, and the cataract increase was due to increasing age and not occupational exposures of RF.
