50 Hz ELF exposure to healthy and cancer patient lymphocytes and analysis of cell mediated immunity |
| Details |
|
Human T lymphocytes (from healthy volunteers and cancer patients before and after medical treatment) were exposed to 50 Hz ELF at 0.5 mT and examined in a leukocyte adherence inhibition assay as an indicator of cell mediated immunity. Exposure for 1 hour resulted in enhanced activity. The authors suggest magnetic fields may influence immune function in humans. Studies using 0.1 mT ELF exposures are ongoing. |
