Model		900 MHz (GSM) exposure to rats and analysis of blood brain barrier leakage and neurodegeneration (replication of Salford et al)
Details		Fisher 344 rats (12 week old) were exposed to 900 MHz (GSM) in a head-only exposure apparatus. Experimental groups consisted of a cage control, positive controls, sham exposure, 0.2 W/kg, and 2.0 W/kg. 14 and 50 days after the exposure animals are sacrificed with intracardiac fixation, the brains removed from the skull, embedded in paraffin, and serial 5 um thick brain sections prepared from 3 different regions. Dark neurons will be identified using cresyl violet staining and immunofluorescence. Start date September 2004, end date September 2005.
