800 MHz (PDC) and 2 GHz (UMTS) mobile phone use and pacemaker interference on train cars ("semi-echoic environment") - modeling and experimental study |
Details |
|
Theoretical modeling and experimental data were collected from mobile phone use on a train car and analysis of field strength interactions that might be experienced by an individual with a pacemaker. The authors conclude that at distances of 15 cm, field strengths are not high enough to affect existing pacemaker units. The current recommended safe distance in Japan of 22 cm further insures the lack of any harmful interaction. |
