Static magnetic field exposure to turtle retina tissue and analysis of electroretinographic response |
| Details |
|
Turtle retinas were exposed to direct-current (static) magnetic fields of 10 to 100 gauss cause a significant short-term reduction of the in vitro electroretinographic b-wave response. This response compression was not accompanied by a reduction in retinal sensitivity with background illumination. Furthermore, the effect was transient after the offset of ambient lighting in the diurnal light-dark cycle of nonhibernating animals |
