Human volunteers (33 men, 29 women, all right handed, aged 18-53) were exposed to 900 MHz (GSM) RF via mobile phones that were hooked up to the network (undefined exposure in terms of SAR). Two sets of experiments were performed - measuring the ability to remember a series of words in the short-term as well as one week later. The authors reported that exposure significantly enhanced the short-term (but not long-term) cognitive function of men (but not women). |

There is no information on exposure level, transmit power level, if the phones had good or poor signal during the experiment, or whether the subjects were all tested in the same location and in the same exact spot. Because subjects were instructed to manually hold the phone to their left ear during the experiment, they certainly may have known the phone was on due to warming of phone circuitry and this would have biased the data. |
