900, 2450 MHz (CW) exposure to leukocytes and muscle tissue and anaysis of free-radical production |
Details |
|
Human leukocyte cells were isolated from volunteers and exposed to 900 MHz (GSM, UMTS, PDC, or CW) RF in a waveguide at 140 W/kg (estimated with FDTD) and evaluated for free radical (OH-) production by following fluorescently loaded cells with spectrometry. Temperature control was applied to insure no significant thermal effects. The authors report no statistically significant effects. In a related ongoing study, muscle tissue samples will be exposed to 900 MHz and 2450 MHz (CW) RF and analyzed for biological free-radical production. |
